Frequently asked questions
Everything about Vitrio screen film: finish, install, shipping and returns.
Product
Should I pick glossy (clear) or matte?
**Matte is our recommended pick**: anti-glare and anti-fingerprint, with a silky, paper-like feel. Both glare and fingerprints distract you day and night in a car, and matte kills both. Glossy (clear) keeps the original glass look and maximum colour fidelity, pick it if you don't mind reflections. Scratch protection is the same on both. How does it protect against scratches?
The surface has a self-healing coating that erases everyday micro-scratches (keys, zippers, gravel, fingernails) within minutes when warm. For heavier hits, the film sacrifices itself — the underlying screen stays intact, and you replace just the film. How is Vitrio film different from tempered glass?
Tempered glass is thicker, which can cause bezel or touch issues on car displays and shatters into sharp pieces when broken. Vitrio film is 0.3 mm, flexible, hugs the original cover glass, and works on curved displays. The feel is close to the original glass (clear) or silky-smooth (matte). Once applied, the film is **virtually invisible** — the screen looks factory-fresh.Will the touchscreen and haptics still work normally?
Yes. The film is 0.3 mm thin. Touch, multitouch gestures, haptic feedback, and capacitive buttons (e.g. BMW iDrive's touch knob) all continue to work. In-display fingerprint sensors work with the clear finish.
Installation
Can I install the film at home?
Yes, and it's genuinely easy. The kit includes a microfiber cloth, application liquid (wet install), a rubber-edge squeegee, a dust-removal sticker, and a printed step-by-step guide. The liquid lets you slide the film into place, then you push out air and water with the card. Bubble-free result, and from unboxing to finished install it takes **about 5 minutes**.What's in the install kit?
Microfiber cleaning cloth, application liquid spray, rubber-edge squeegee for pushing out water, dust-removal sticker, and a printed step-by-step guide. Plus a QR code to a video walkthrough specific to your display type. Can I remove the film later, e.g. when selling the car?
Yes. The adhesive leaves no residue, even after years. Lift a corner and peel cleanly. No glue residue, no discolouration. How do I know which film fits my display?
Use the finder on the homepage: brand, model, year, display type (central infotainment, digital cluster, head-up cover). We show the right variant cut for your generation. Don't see yours? Submit it on the request page and we usually add the template within a few weeks.
